TheUnited States Postal Service has submitted a request to the
Postal RateCommission to increase postage ratesby 5.4 percent for
most classes ofmail. New postage rates are expected to go into effect
on January8,2006. The proposed increase for first class letters
up to one ounce is from $0.37 to $0.39. For a complete list ofrates,

101" is an orientation for brand new public librarydirectors. It's
sponsored by the Iowa Library Service Areas four timeseachyear,
typically in March, June, September, and December. This is a3‑hourprogram,
touching on topics such as library board governance,budgeting, policydevelopment,
collection development, etc. "Library 101" is meant toserve as an
introduction to Iowa
public library issues until such time as newdirectors canenroll
in the Public Library Management courses. While it's intendedfor
publiclibrary directors, support staff and personnel from other
