Waverly
Public Library director stepping down
The director
of the Waverly Public Library will step down after almost 30 years
of service.
Pat Coffie served the
library since 1976. Her last day will be June 30.
When she retires ,
Coffie plans to commit more time to visiting her family, storytelling
and puppetry. But she won't be a stranger to the library..
"I'll be here a lot
to feed my habits." Coffie said. "I do like to read."
Assistant director
Sarah Meyer-Reyerson of Shell Rock will step up to head the library.
The library board approved the hire Tuesday.
MeyerReyerson served
as the director of the Evandale Public Library from 1996-97 and
has worked for the Waverly library since. She is a graduate of Luther
College and is working toward a master's degree at the University
of Iowa School of Library and Information Science.
Details are pending
on a farewell open house for Coffie. The next library board meeting
is at 5:15 p.m. June 20.
