Clarinda Public Library
Objectives
It is the purpose of the Clarinda Public Library to assemble, preserve, and circulate books, recordings, pamphlets, magazines, art prints, and other materials for the free communication of ideas, the dissemination of accurate information, and the enrichment of the personal lives of all the citizens of the area which it serves, regardless of race, color, or creed. Our library also proposes that every individual will have access through it to the more extensive library facilities provided by Regional, State, and Federal Library agencies.
Ida Grove Public Library
Mission Statement
The Ida Grove Public Library was established for the purpose of providing the residents of Ida Grove with access to books and other resources and services for education, information, and recreation. The board recognizes that the library must furnish background and current books as well as other materials to supply these needs. To provide satisfactory library service, the board realizes the need for competent professional and clerical staff.
The library strives to aid and encourage the patrons in their pursuit of knowledge.
Rolfe Public Library
Mission Statement
The services of the Rolfe Public Library are geared mainly toward the profitable use of the leisure time of our patrons. We serve the needs of all ages of people, with an emphasis on pre-school and early grade school children.
We recognize that no one library can have everything. For this reason we do not put an emphasis on reference materials. Instead, it is our purpose to provide backup services for students, as well as other persons, with the materials that are in our collection, and through the Interlibrary loan services available to us through the Northwest Regional Library System.
Carroll Public Library
Library Objectives
The goal of the Carroll Public Library is to serve the Community by providing information, education, and recreation to all ages in the Community in all phases of endeavor.
To carry out this goal, four general areas of service will be covered. They are: 1) Service to the general community, 2) Service to the occupational community, 3) Service to the student, and 4) Service to children.
- Service to the General Community.
The Carroll Public Library will serve the needs and interests of the general community through information on a variety of topics and will endeavor to present all sides of controversial issues. Books, magazines, newspapers, phonograph records, tape recordings, pamphlets, microfilm, and other resources will be made available to the Community through the library.
- Service to the Occupational Community.
Within the limitations of space and funds, the Carroll Public Library will seek to provide specialized data of interest to all occupations. Although the Library has no special department, it will supply recent and pertinent information to this group for its self-enlightenment which, in turn, will be of economic and cultural benefit to the Community.
- Service to the Student.
The student working under an accelerated program presents a recent challenge to public libraries. The Carroll Public Library will strive to meet the needs of students through an understanding of their educational program and research demands. Although the Library does not function as a university library, it will seek to provide, within reasonable limits, materials for student use. The Library will endeavor to cooperate with area school and college libraries to provide the best possible research facilities for students.
- Service to Children.
The Library will continue to supply the best in children's reading. Old and new favorites, books expressing the highest quality of literary skill and book arts, will serve as guides to book selection. The Library will strive to provide children with the best books of history and information to help them understand the era.
Recognizing its involvement and responsibility to the Community, the Carroll Public Library thus endeavors to fulfill the information, education, and recreation needs of its public.
