Use of Multi-Purpose Room

The library will welcome the use of its Multi-Purpose room for socially useful and cultural activities, etc. No charge will be made for the use of the meeting room.

The librarian will control the scheduling of the Multi-Purpose room.






Waterloo Public Library

Policy on Using Public Library Meeting Rooms

Meeting room facilities at the public library are available at no charge during regular library hours to any educational, cultural or other non-commercial, nonsectarian civic groups. All meetings held at the library must be open to the general public and no charge may be made for admission.

Application for meeting room space must be made in writing at the adult circulation desk. All applications must be approved by the Head of the Adult Services Department or the Director.

Light refreshments may be served provided that the person in charge takes care of the clean-up.

Use of library space for meetings in no way implies library endorsement of ideas expressed in the meetings or of the aims and goals of the organizations using the facilities.






Ida Grove Public Library

Heritage Room Policies

The Heritage Room In the Ida Grove Public Library may be used as a meeting room for small groups provided the group abides by the following policies established by the Library Board.

  1. Educational, civic, cultural, public information events or library-sponsored programs may be held.

  2. Programs inconsistent with the library's objectives, such as bingo games, religious meetings, or money raising functions will be excluded.

  3. The use of the library's name in distributing partisan literature or for an organization's mailing address will not be allowed.

  4. Liquid refreshments will be limited to coffee, tea or other non-alcoholic beverages.

  5. Arrangements for reserving the room must be made with the librarian at least one week prior to the meeting time. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

  6. There will be no storage of equipment or records belonging to the group meeting in the room.

  7. There will be NO SMOKING in the Heritage Room.

  8. The group who use the room will be responsible for locking the room, leaving it clean and orderly, and returning the key to the librarian. If the librarian is gone before the meeting is over, the key must be returned on the following day by 1:30 p.m., so that the next group will be able to use the room.

  9. Any furniture moved in the Heritage Room must be returned to its proper place.

  10. The Heritage Room will not be available on Holidays.

  11. First time users of the Heritage Room will be given a copy of the policies.






Greene Public Library

Meeting Room Policy

The Greene Public Library is aware of the need for accommodations to be used by groups and committees. It feels that making available such accommodations to the public is an additional service which the library may render under conditions set by the library board. The board of trustees of the Greene Public Library invites any group of citizens, who purpose is not illegal and whose conduct is not objectionable, to meet in the library meeting room, subject to the following regulations:

  1. Attendance at meetings is to be limited to 50 persons.

  2. Application for permission to use the meeting room shall be made to the library director.

  3. Reservations for use of the meeting room must include the name of the group or organization, time desired, number persons expected, and name and telephone number of person responsible.

  4. Smoking is not permitted in the meeting room; no alcohol or controlled substances may be consumed on the premises.

  5. Use of materials on walls, or decorations, is prohibited without specific approval of the library director.

  6. There will be no charge for the use of the meeting room.

  7. There is a $5.00 charge for the use of the kitchen. Dishes must be washed and kitchen equipment cleaned after use.

  8. The person who signs the reservation form shall be held responsible for problems or costs resulting from the specified use.

  9. The fact that a group meets in the library does not constitute an endorsement of the group's policies or beliefs.

  10. Children's groups must be supervised by an adult sponsor.

  11. Groups are responsible for their own set up and take down.

  12. Library programs and library-related programs have priority in the use of the facilities.

  13. Any individual or representative of a group requesting reservation of the meeting room must do so in person and complete an application form.

  14. The library reserves the right to assess a $25 cleaning or labor charge if necessary.

  15. Groups accept responsibility for the repair or replacement of damaged or missing facilities or equipment.

  16. Person signing the responsibility form shall be responsible for picking up the key to the meeting room at the library during library hours. This person shall also be responsible for locking the door when the meeting is over and for returning the key to the library.

  17. The library director is authorized to deny permission to use library meeting room to any group or individual that is disorderly or objectionable in any way, or that violates these regulations.
