Collection Development Policy

REGIONAL LIBRARY SYSTEM

In order to better serve our patrons, the Glenwood Public Library will make use of the Regional Library System and the State Library Commission when we are unable to provide locally for those items requested. Return postage will be requested for the return of all Inter-library Loan materials, plus any other charges incurred.




Estherville Public Library

Methods of Extending Services, Including Branch Libraries, Bookmobiles, and Participation in the Regional Library System

We are a part of the Northwest Regional Library System and, therefore, anyone In the state of Iowa may use our library. Through this regional library system, we cooperate in an interchange of books and other library Items.




Lake View Public Library

Library Policies

  1. Affiliation with the Northwest Regional Library System

    1. The inception
      1. By a Legislative Act in 1973 our state was divided into seven Library Regions. Due to geographical factors, the Lake View Public Library is part of the Northwest Regional Library System with the resource center in Sioux City.

    2. Services available
      1. Books and library materials not supplied by our library may be borrowed from the Sioux City center. The transaction, however, would be negotiated through the librarian.

    3. Interlibrary loan
      1. Cooperation with a state-wide inter-library loan system is an extension of our library services. It is a desirable, expedient advancement in library progress.
